Twisted Fisherman caters functions of every shape across Melbourne and the outer suburbs: engagements, anniversaries, milestone birthdays, corporate events, bar and bat mitzvahs, christenings and the celebrations that don’t fit a category.
What function catering packages do you offer?
We offer three customisable packages that cover almost every Melbourne function: full food truck service where guests order cooked-to-order mains at the window, cocktail-style roaming finger food with staff, and combined packages that open with canapes and finish with truck mains. Every package is built around your guest count, venue and budget, with vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and halal-friendly dishes designed in from the start.
The Truck Package. The full experience. We park, set up self-sufficiently (two car spots, no power needed), and serve from the window: fish and chips, Blackmore Wagyu burgers, salt’n’pepper calamari, Korean fried chicken. Best for relaxed functions of 30 to 300 plus.
The Cocktail Package. Dressed-up roaming service: freshly shucked oysters, kingfish sashimi, wagyu sliders, spring lamb chops. Staffed at one server per 25 to 30 guests, indoors or out. Counts and pricing logic are in our finger food guide.
The Full Function. Canapes through arrivals and speeches, truck service for mains, and a late tray of hot chips when the night needs it. The format we run most for engagements and milestone birthdays.
A menu that works the whole room
Functions gather mixed crowds: the seafood devotee, the burger loyalist, the vegan cousin, the kids’ table. Our menu is built for exactly this. Seafood is Australian and NZ only with origin named on every dish. Meats come from Blackmore, Sher, Borrowdale and King Island. Vegetarian dishes are designed to be chosen, not assigned. Everyone orders what they actually want, which is the quiet reason food truck functions out-rate plated ones.
What does function catering cost in Melbourne?
Most function catering with the truck lands between $25 and $60 per head, with cocktail packages from around $35 per head including staff. Final pricing depends on guest numbers, menu tier and service hours, and your quote shows everything up front: no venue surcharges, no hidden equipment fees.

How do you book function catering?
Three steps: send your date, suburb and rough guest count through the form below (or call 0448 884 864), receive a tailored menu and quote within two business days, then confirm with a deposit and consider the catering handled. Saturday functions in spring and summer book four to eight weeks out; December goes earlier, as our Christmas guide explains in painful detail.

What’s the minimum and maximum size for a function?
Around 30 guests minimum for truck service, with no practical maximum; we’ve catered public events in the thousands. Under 30, ask about our cocktail-style options.
Can you cater indoor functions?
Yes. The cocktail package runs fully indoors with our staff, and combined formats put the truck outside while canapes circulate inside.
Do your packages include staff, equipment and serving ware?
Yes. Packages include chefs, service staff where applicable, and all serving materials. You provide the guests and the venue.
Can we customise a package?
Every package is customisable: menu, service hours, dietary mix and format. The quote process is where we tailor it to your function.
How far outside Melbourne do you travel?
We cover all of Greater Melbourne and the outer suburbs, and regularly travel to the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and beyond. Travel beyond the metro area is quoted up front.
