The Perfect Answer to Your Catering Needs: Food Truck Catering Melbourne

An Australian Christmas is a summer party wearing a northern hemisphere costume, and most Christmas party catering in Melbourne still serves the costume: hot roasts in beige function rooms while it's 28 degrees outside. Twisted Fisherman caters the season you actually have. The truck arrives at your office car park, courtyard or backyard, the awnings go up, and December gets what it deserves: freshly shucked oysters, chilli prawn skewers and lobster rolls, cooked to order in the open air.

This page covers the service itself: what's included, what's on the Christmas menu, and where the truck can set up. For the strategy questions, when to book, what it costs and which format suits your team, our Christmas party catering guide has the full playbook. Short version: the good December Fridays go by September.

WHAT WE DO?

All the services you need,  in one place

What the Christmas catering service includes

Everything except the venue, because you already have one. The truck is fully self-sufficient: onboard power, onboard water, a complete commercial kitchen and the chefs to run it. Service staff are included in the quote, as are the insurance certificates and food registration paperwork that office buildings and councils ask for. You supply the car park, courtyard, garden or loading dock; we turn it into the venue.

Cocktail-style service is available with or without the truck, so indoor Christmas events, rooftops and gallery spaces are covered too. Our finger food service runs canapes through speeches and toasts, and pairs with the truck when you want both acts.

The Christmas menu: seafood first, because it's summer

Fresh seafood is the true centrepiece of an Australian December, and it's the reason a seafood truck fits this season better than any caterer working from trays. The Christmas program leads with freshly shucked Tasmanian oysters with champagne vinaigrette, grilled chilli prawn skewers and the signature WA lobster roll, backed by Blackmore Wagyu burgers and smoked brisket for the surf-and-turf contingent, and kids' fish and chips for the family events.

Vegetarian and vegan guests get mains that feel celebratory rather than apologetic: the shiitake and edamame burger and popcorn cauliflower regularly out-order the fish among guests with no dietary requirements at all. Gluten free and halal-friendly choices are planned in at booking. The full menu shows the complete range; December produce orders are placed weeks ahead, which is one more argument for booking early.

Where the truck sets up

Office car parks, courtyards and loading areas are the natural habitat of the work Christmas party; directors' backyards and local parks host the rest. The truck needs roughly a parking-space footprint and reasonable access, nothing more. We run December events across the CBD, Southbank and Docklands office belts, and the backyard circuit from Toorak to Fitzroy.

Booking your December (or January) date

December calendars fill in strict order: second and third Fridays first, then Thursdays, then the first weekend. If your preferred date is gone, January parties get our whole calendar, better weather and the same menu, an option more Melbourne companies choose every year. Send your date, headcount and location or call 0448 884 864, and you'll have availability and a firm quote usually within two business days. The timing strategy, budget ranges and a month-by-month planning timeline are all in the Christmas catering guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in Christmas food truck catering?

The truck, chefs, service staff, all cooking equipment, and the insurance and registration paperwork venues require. The truck carries its own power and water, so your site needs nothing but space to park.

Can you cater a Christmas party inside our office?

Yes. Cocktail-style service with roaming staff covers indoor spaces, and it can run alone or alongside the truck parked outside.

What happens if it rains on the day?

The truck serves in any weather; guests are the ones who need cover. Most sites solve it with awnings, undercover car parks or marquees, and we'll flag options during the logistics walk-through.

Can you serve both seafood lovers and everyone else?

That's the house specialty. Oysters, prawns and lobster rolls for the seafood crowd; Wagyu burgers, smoked brisket and celebratory vegetarian mains for everyone else, all off one truck.

Is a January Christmas party really an option?

A genuinely good one. Open dates, reset budgets, better weather and no competition from four other parties in the same week. The full case is in our Christmas catering guide.
